Card of 9 or lower - Hit!
Card of 10 or 11 - Double down! (But if the dealer's up card is 10 or 11, then just hit).
Cards of 12 thru' 16 - Hit! (Dealer's card is 7 or higher).
Cards of 12 thru' 16 - Stand. (Dealer's card is 6 or less).
Cards of 17 or higher - Stand.
Note that this is generic of standard blackjack gaming without considering many other variables.
Soft hands - Consist of having an ace making it a 11 and not 1. Usually this probability creates higher winning chances.
With Soft Hands for the player -
13 thru' 18 - Double down! (Dealer holds 5 or 6 as upcard).
13 thru' 17 - Hit! (Dealer holds 7 thru' Ace as up card).
18 - Stand. (The house holds 7 thru' Ace as upcard).
19 - Stand. Double down only if the casino dealer holds a 6 dealing card.
Two same cards or pairs -
Pair of 5's - Double down. Hit when Dealer is 10 or ace.
Pair of 8's or Aces' - Split and win big!
